A very warm welcome to our chambres d'hôtes and our gîte.
LE PRIEURÉ is situated in the south west of France in a delightful, small village in the Entre deux Mers region, east of Bordeaux and very close to many of the famous wine growing areas of the Gironde. The village of Listrac de Durèze nestles on the side of the Durèze valley and is just on the edge of the rolling valleys of the Dordogne.
We are just an hour from the airports of Bergerac and Bordeaux.
LE PRIEURÉ is a Girondine house, built of cream stone and was the old priory for the bourg of Listrac de Durèze. The church and some of the priory buildings date from the 11th century. The main part of the house was built as an extension to the 'longere' in the 1800s and was the presbytery for the parish priest.
L'Étable (the barn) has been renovated to make a delightful gîte which can accommodate two people. Please click here for further information and photographs.
The large garden has a swimming pool with terrace, lawn, raised terrace and woodland area. In the woodland is a water source, as well as a laverie and pool dating from when the house was the presbytery.
The house is situated about 150 metres from the church that dates from the 11th, 13th and 15th centuries.
The house has undergone major refurbishment but care has been taken to maintain the beauty and character of the property whilst providing modern amenities.
